HERE! Claiming Community Through Poetry and Photography (Facilitator)

Baldwin Hills Branch Library, LaBrea Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90016

Join us for a free introductory workshop series where we will use poetry and photography to document the communities we belong to and the changes we’re experiencing under the threat of displacement. In this 90-minute workshop, we will learn how to tell stories through poetry and basic photography, write poems using guided prompts, and discuss and share our work.

For ADA accommodations, call (213) 228-7430 at least 72 hours prior to the event. Para ajustes razonables según la ley de ADA, llama al (213) 228-7430 al menos 72 horas antes del evento.

Supporting Jason Luckett as part of the Jazz Vespers series at All Saints Church in Pasadena. Jason will be performing a set of Freedom Songs, movement songs from jazz and folk traditions, and original work. Joining me will be Russell Ferrante (piano), Edwin Livingston (bass), and Reggie Quinerly (drums). With special guests, Josslyn Luckett (sermon) and Nailah Porter (vocals). This is a FREE event.

Poetry helps us capture feelings and photography helps us capture visual moments. Join us for a free introductory workshop series where we will use poetry and photography to document the communities we belong to and the changes we’re experiencing under the threat of displacement.
